Ten local businesses, including professional service providers, retailers, beverage specialists and technology companies are among the finalists for the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce 2019 Small Business Celebration.
The Small Business Celebration Top 10 companies for 2019 were unveiled by Chamber officials this week and are in the running to become the Chamber’s 2019 Hagerty Small Business of the Year. From here the finalists move on to the SBC Top 10 Breakfast on April 30 and then the Awards Ceremony on May 7, where the Chamber will unveil the Small Business of the Year.
“We have another outstanding collection of businesses competing for the 2019 Hagerty Small Business of the Year award,” Chamber Executive Director Whitney Waara said. “The Small Business Celebration is an important time to help raise awareness of all of the local businesses that are working hard in our region. And through this competitive process we are especially excited to help raise the profile and learn more about the Top 10 finalists.”
This year’s finalists include:
Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons
EXIT Realty Paramount
Anavon Technology Group
Glitz & Spurs Boutique
Carter-Needham-Hathaway & Associates Farm Bureau Insurance
In addition to the SBC Top 10, the Small Business Celebration judges will evaluate several other SBC participants for the Emerging Business Award. The judges will also select one of the Top 10 finalists for the competition’s Summit Award.
“Over the next several weeks, our community will have the chance to hear all about this dynamic and diverse group of businesses- we are really looking forward to hearing all of their stories!,” Waara said.
The next step in the Small Business Celebration is for the judges’ team to conduct site visits to each of the Top 10 to learn more about their operations and meet employees. The companies will be honored at the Meet the Top 10 Breakfast on April 30 from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at NMC’s Hagerty Center, a public event to celebrate this year’s finalists. The recipient of the Chamber’s 2019 Hagerty Small Business of the Year Award, along with the Summit and Emerging Business awards, will be announced May 7 at the SBC Awards Ceremony starting at 5 p.m. at Hagerty Center.
Registration for the Top 10 Breakfast and the SBC Awards Ceremony is available through the Chamber’s website at www.tcchamber.org
