The countdown is on for what promises to be one of the Traverse City Area Chamber’s most important – and high energy – efforts of the year: the Chamber’s 2013 Membership Event.
You can read Chamber President/CEO Doug Luciani’s column on the importance of Chamber membership in the December issue of the Traverse City Business News by clicking here.
The Chamber reached out to Your Chamber Connection to assist with the drive, and the Chamber staff and Membership Event volunteers met with YCC Principal Jimmy Cusano for the first time this week for a training session. Check out a photo gallery from the training session by clicking here.
The takeway? Cusano brings a high-octane, competitive, and fun approach to the recruitment effort that’s generated thousands of new members and millions of membership dollars to Chambers throughout the U.S. and Canada. While Cusano’s approach with his snappy “zoot suit”, music and upbeat personality creates a party-like atmosphere for the event, his message is serious: The Chamber is working on important issues like economic development, job creation and legislative advocacy for our region and needs support from its members to generate the most impact.
“This program lets people see how good you are,” Cusano said. “When others hear about everything the Chamber does, all of a sudden you have a great deal of enthusiasm for the Chamber, and a great deal of support.”
The Membership Chairs and their team captains are assembling their recruitment teams this week, and the Membership Event will be held from Dec. 17-19 at the Great Wolf Lodge.
