VOLUNTEER AT GRASS RIVER THIS SUMMER
If you’ve been looking for a rewarding volunteer experience, the Grass River Natural Area is looking for you. If you need community service hours for high school, scouting, or Master Gardeners, the Grass River Natural Area needs you.
GRNA has great opportunities for teens, college students and adults who love the outdoors. Volunteers help the Naturalists teach children’s classes, staff the bookstore, landscape and maintain the trails. Whatever your interest, we have a spot for you. An orientation for prospective volunteers will be held at 2 :00 pm on June 13th at the Grass River Center.
The Grass River Natural Area has over 1,400 acres of wetlands and wildlife habitat with miles of trails available to the public for year-round enjoyment. Open from dawn to dusk, GRNA is located five miles south of Bellaire and four miles north of Alden on County Road 618 (Alden Highway). GRNA offers hikes and classes year-round. Naturalists staff the Center Tuesday through Sunday beginning June 11 through August 27 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Join the volunteers at Grass River Natural Area and become part of an organization that is dedicated to protecting Antrim County’s natural environment. For more information please call Melynda at 533-8314.
