Jill joined the Chamber staff after coming to Venture North Funding & Development, the Chamber’s sister business lending and economic development organization, in 2016 as a Development Consultant. She worked with Venture North partners in growing the organization’s available lending capital, doing marketing and outreach and leading Venture North’s effort to become federally certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
Jill previously worked as a program officer for the Frey Foundation where she reviewed and evaluated grant proposals and then monitored their administration and impact. She also served as an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University, and before that worked as the Director of Fund Development at The Right Place Inc. in Grand Rapids, which is among Michigan’s most-impactful economic development organizations. She’s also done extensive community volunteer and advocacy work, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Olivet College and a Master’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University.
“Jill has been a tremendous asset to our organization, first in her work with Venture North and most recently as the Chamber’s Director of Investor Relations,” TraverseCONNECT CEO Doug Luciani said. “She has a strong relationship with the Chamber membership and staff, and we’re confident in her abilities to continue the momentum of the Chamber in support of its mission, its members, and the communities it serves.”
