Honor Bank to match per-pound donations
HONOR, Mich. – The autumn season traditionally sees food pantry usage numbers increase, and Honor Bank is once again reaching out to the community to meet growing needs. Honor Bank is collecting pantry items for its 10th annual Honor Thy Neighbor grocery drive October 28¬-November 8. They will match each pound collected with a 25-cent donation. Items collected will then be donated to local food pantries in northwest Michigan.
Honor Bank is asking both customers and non-customers to bring in non-perishable food, personal items (toiletries, diapers, etc.), or cash, and drop them off at any of its nine locations located in Grand Traverse, Benzie, Wexford, and Manistee Counties.
This is the tenth year that Honor Bank has conducted the annual grocery drive. Since its inception, Honor Bank has donated over $52,000 in matching funds and collected over 60,000 lbs of food and personal items for the area’s disadvantaged.
