Chamber President and CEO Doug Luciani hosted an enlightening panel discussion at Tuesday’s Economic Outlook Breakfast. It featured Penny Lewandowski of the Edward Lowe Foundation and Mitch Stapley of Fifth Third Asset Management. Lewandowski’s presentation focused on the growth of second-stage companies, and those companies specifically located in Grand Traverse County. Stapley’s presentation included an overview on the growth of Michigan manufacturing jobs, recovering auto sales, and strong median income growth in Michigan. The Outlook Breakfast was followed by the Chamber Business Expo which featured some 140 exhibitors and drew more than 1,000 attendees to the Grand Traverse Resort’s Governor’s Hall. It was an upbeat and informative day and the Traverse City Area Chamber thanks to all who participated and attended.
And of course, thanks to our event sponsors: Fifth Third for the Economic Outlook Breakfast, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan for the Business Expo. Cherryland Electric Cooperative also supports the Expo.
