A new Speakers Series featuring some of Michigan’s top decision-makers will be rolled out in 2015 by the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance.
The series will debut May 1 in a program featuring State of Michigan Budget Director John Roberts. That’s followed by a June 12 luncheon with Detroit Mayor Michael Duggan, as the Alliance continues to expand its state-wide presence and attract some of Michigan’s top civic and business leaders to learn more about Northern Michigan.
“As the Alliance grows its brand and continues to evolve as a major voice for the region’s business community, it’s important that we connect with civic and business leaders in other parts of Michigan and the Midwest to make them more aware of what’s happening in our region and what we have to offer,” said Kent Wood, director of government relations for the Alliance and the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce.
The May 1 event featuring Roberts will be held from 3:30 – 5 p.m. at Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Center. It’s a free event open to Chamber members within the Alliance. The second installment on June 12 with Mayor Duggan is a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. The presenting sponsor is Consumers Energy. Registration is available at www.tchamber.org.
Plans are in the works for another Speakers Series installment in late summer or fall with a representative from the business community.
