Troy, MI – May 21, 2013 – Center for Computer Resources (CCR), an information technology
company located in Troy, MI, is pleased to announce that it has acquired Power IT, LLC, a
leading Michigan business technology solutions company based in Petoskey, MI. The acquisition
will strengthen and drive additional growth for both companies.
“We are beyond excited about this opportunity,” says CCR President and CEO, Curtis Hicks.
“This acquisition of Power IT will give us the ability to extend our geographical reach in the
great state of Michigan, as well as extend the services we can offer our clients.”
CCR will increase its business leverage and services by implementing Power IT’s best practices
into its own operations. They will also offer significant backend support to Power IT and their
clients. “We believe this new partnership will bring great things for our business and our
clients,” Hicks says. “Power IT has grown into an amazing business over the past 13 years with a
faithful client base that really speaks for itself. We look forward to the knowledge and
experience this opportunity adds to CCR.”
Founded in 2000, Power IT delivers expert IT solutions to clients across northern and central
Michigan. Under the leadership of their founder and CEO, Del Ingalls, the company has grown
its expert technical team and implemented industry leading tools and processes to become one
of the area’s largest and leading Managed Service Providers.
“The team and I are ecstatic about the acquisition and joining of forces with an organization of
such national stature as CCR,” says Ingalls. “With an amazing leadership team, including SMB
PC’s Top 150 Power Player recipient Curtis Hicks, and well recognized industry icon John
Bamberger, a staff of 46 strong and a world-class help desk, CCR adds a significant breadth and
depth of expertise unmatched here in the north, maybe in the whole state,” Ingalls says. “Yet
with already aligned tools, processes and a culture of a ‘big company IT packaged and priced for
small businesses’, our clients won’t lose that local touch. In short, and what I’m most excited
about, is that we are now able to bring national caliber IT solutions to northern Michigan with
the trust and partnership of a local neighbor.”
Ingalls continues, “A major reason for transacting this deal was the desire to bring Cloud and
Hosted solutions to our clients as an available offer. CCR has already ‘spun up’ a world class
data center solution and has hundreds of thrilled clients running their business in the CCR
Cloud. Cloud offerings now available include Cloud email, VoIP/Telephony, server, mobility,
collaboration and others. Additionally, we will very soon be offering PCI Compliance services, a
very important and needed service for the retail and hospitality markets.” And Ingalls says,
“Finally, CCR, like Power IT, has a very strong expertise and installed base in Healthcare IT and
consulting services to meet all the needs of our medical clients. “
CCR will provide local northern Michigan service under the Power IT name and current staff will
be retained in the Petoskey and Traverse City office locations. Ingalls joins CCR and will become
part of the Executive Management Team.
CCR looks to grow in both the Petoskey and Traverse City area and are pleased to offer: Full
hosting services, offsite backup, hosted email, health information technology based services
and soon to be announced PCI Compliance services. They also carry a fully-staffed world-class
help desk from 7AM – 8PM. Those interested in joining the technical team at the Petoskey and
Traverse City office locations are encouraged to apply via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
