The Business Advocacy Council will be the primary vehicle to connect and help advocate for the Chamber’s business members. The Council’s focus is to embrace and encourage advocacy as the voice for business at the local, state and federal levels.
Advocacy is the active support of a cause, issue or policy at the local, regional and state level. An Advocacy program is a continuous process of empowering and encouraging members to take action on public policy issues. It is a course that leads members as they seek to impact public policy.
Who Should Participate
The person participating in the Business Advocacy Council should be the Owner, CEO, or key decision maker of an organization. Because the members of the Council will be looked upon by the Chamber and its Traverse Bay EDC for their vision, ideas, and strategic input, it is imperative the members of the Business Advocacy Council are connected to the business needs of the region.
