(WALKER, Mich. – September 24, 2013) – Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore (GSMISTS) announced Jennifer W. Wilson, as its new Director of Fund Development and Communications.
This expert fundraising and communications professional brings more than 10 years of leadership, financial management and strategic planning experience to the position spending the last three years as CEO of Grand Development Associates LLC, a non-profit consultancy specializing in implementing high profile fundraising campaigns while building community partnerships.
“We are thrilled to have Jennifer’s vision, expertise and passion for non-profits on our leadership team,” said Gloria Lara, CEO of GSMISTS, “Jennifer is a proven leader and advocate for women and girls.”
Editor-in-chief of Women’s LifeStyle since 2011, Wilson will maintain this role in her new Girl Scouts position. At GSMISTS, Jennifer will be responsible for fund development and media relations for the council’s 30-county region. Wilson is looking forward to new opportunities with the 100-year-old organization.
“I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and I am honored to have been selected to serve an organization that has impacted the lives of many for so long in addition to continuing the Girl Scouts mission for the future,” said Wilson.
The Grand Rapids native holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Davenport University (DU). She has served on numerous boards and committees including DU’s Alumni Board of Directors, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre Board of Directors, Grand Rapids Young Professionals Advisory Board of Directors, Better Business Bureau Charity Review Co-Chairperson, and the Grand Rapids Hunger Action Week Steering Committee.
