The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that several members have earned over $166,235 in dividends through the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America workers compensation group program. Congratulations to our chamber members who participate in the program, including members of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce, the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce and the Benzie County Chamber of Commerce.
Since the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce is a designated group, our members receive 5 percent up-front savings on Accident Fund workers compensation insurance rates. Plus, when the group performs well, participating chamber members are eligible for dividends.
“Business owners often inquire about the benefits of Chamber membership,” said Sherry Galbraith, the Traverse City Area Chamber’s new director of membership. “This is one of those areas where membership in their local chamber can help businesses reduce their operating costs and bolster the bottom line.”
In August 2013, our chamber’s group program was reviewed and it was determined that we earned a 6.0 percent dividend for members that participated in the May, 2011 to April 30, 2012 program. The $166,235 in dividends is being paid to over 230 participants, so the average dividend to participating members is over $700. The group will be reviewed again this same time next year for another possible dividend distribution.
Since 1999, the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America has paid the Chamber over $2.6M in dividends to members.
“It’s a fact – safety pays. A safe work environment is not only great for employees, it’s great for the bottom line,” says Theresa Ross, Accident Fund’s group program consultant. “We’re proud to be able to present these Chambers with this dividend for members in this program.”
