A week-long celebration to honor its members, volunteers, high-level investors and to present its annual Distinguished Service Award will be held by the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce from January 22 – 26, 2018.
“Chamber Celebration Week” will include a series of special events held at the Chamber and Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Center highlighted by the presentation of the Chamber’s Distinguished Service Award at a luncheon on Wednesday, January 24, culminating with the Chamber’s Annual Celebration on Friday, January 26.
“Chamber Celebration Week is the result of a lot of input from our members about how to best honor and celebrate our local business community, our volunteers and especially the recipient of our annual Distinguished Service Award,” Chamber Executive Director Max Anderson said.
Chamber Celebration Week will replace the Chamber’s Annual Celebration that’s been held for several years on the last Friday in January. That event included an update on Chamber activities for the previous year, the DSA presentation plus a social event, but Anderson said it was too much activity for one evening.
“We have a lot of members businesses, volunteers and others who are critical to the success of this organization,” Anderson said. “Wrapping all that into one night, including our DSA presentation, just didn’t do that justice.”
Chamber Week will include a week-long series of events to include:
• Celebrating Chamber Volunteers on Monday, January 22.
• Honoring Chamber Members on Tuesday, January 23.
• Presenting the annual Distinguished Service Award at a luncheon on Wednesday, January 24.
• Recognizing the Chamber’s High-Level Investors on Thursday, January 25.
• The Chamber’s Annual Celebration on Friday, January 26.
The week will include receptions and open houses at the Chamber building at 202 E. Grandview Parkway in Downtown Traverse City. The Distinguished Service Award luncheon and the Annual Celebration will be hosted by the Hagerty Center at NMC’s Great Lakes Campus at 715 E. Front St. in Traverse City. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the various activities. Chamber Event Coordinator Andi Wagenschutz can provide additional information at firstname.lastname@example.org. An event schedule and registration details will be available on the Chamber’s website at tcchamber.org
in the near future.
Anderson said the Chamber is grateful to the volunteers who help plan the Annual Celebration and to Wagenschutz for their efforts in organizing Chamber Week.
“A lot of work has gone into this, and we really appreciate the effort of Andi and our volunteers to plan and organize these Chamber Celebration Week activities,” he said. “Our members, volunteers and high-level investors are the foundation of our success, and we look forward to celebrating with them.”
